What: NASA Deputy Administrator Lori Garver will speak at NASA’s Space Launch System Industry Day event and talk with members of the media Sept. 29 at the Davidson Center for Space Exploration in Huntsville, Ala. Members of the Huntsville-area news media are invited to cover Industry Day presentations and talk with Garver during the event.

This Industry Day is featured as part of Marshall’s Small Business Alliance Meeting, which affords small businesses the opportunity to learn how to do business with NASA. The event also serves as a networking opportunity that will provide industry representatives with an overview of the Space Launch System program and requirements, including details of the acquisition strategy.

NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville is leading design and development of the Space Launch System on behalf of the agency. The new heavy-lift launch vehicle will expand human presence beyond low-Earth orbit and enable new missions of exploration across the solar system. Its first, full-scale test flight is set for 2017.
