The Space Foundation has appointed retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Shelli Brunswick as its chief operating officer. The Space Foundation is a nonprofit advocacy group for all sectors of space.
In her new position, Brunswick will oversee operations, processes and facilities. She will report to Chief Executive Elliot H. Pulham.
Before joining the Space Foundation, Brunswick spent five years with the Air Force Legislative Liaison Office, where she fostered relationships with Congress for the armed forces branch. She also served as an acquisition and program management professional for the Air Force Space Command as well as a space acquisition professional at Space and Missile Systems Center. Brunswick also was team leader and program integrator for the Defense Contracts Management Agency.
“She brings deep space industry knowledge and experience, award winning leadership skills, and a global perspective that will serve the Space Foundation and the space industry very well,” Pulham said in a statement.
The Space Foundation board of directors also elected former U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney (R-Fla.) to a three-year term as a member of its board. Former Rep. David Weldon (R-Fla.) is retiring from the board after serving for two terms.
