Boeing [NYSE:BA] delivered its ninth Boeing 702
spacecraft, the world’s largest communications satellite, which is providing
broadband Internet services for Telesat of Canada and its customers
throughout North America.

The satellite, known as Anik F2, completed all mission milestones and
in-orbit testing following a successful July 17 th launch. Anik F2 began
service operation on October 1, 2004.

"Using proven spot-beam antenna technology to maximize bandwidth efficiency,
the satellite will offer a range of broadband communications services for
consumers, businesses and government customers," said Dave Ryan, president
of Boeing Satellite Systems International. "Utilizing the technology aboard
Anik F2, Telesat will be about offer Ka-band services across North America ,
bringing broadband Internet, distance learning and telemedicine to rural
areas of the United States and Canada."

The Boeing 702 spacecraft was manufactured by Boeing Satellite Systems at
the company’s one-million-square-feet satellite manufacturing, integration
and test complex in El Segundo , Calif. It measures 157 feet long and 27
feet wide, and is designed to produce 16 kilowatts of power during its
15-year design-life.
