The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Asian Development Bank have agreed to cooperate on promoting the use of satellite technology for disaster management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, forest monitoring and water resource management, JAXA said in a press release.
Under the letter of intent signed July 21 at the Asian Development Bank’s headquarters in Manila, Philippines. JAXA will provide technical assistance to bank-supported projects using satellite data. In addition, JAXA will train people at national institutions in Asia and the Pacific region to make use of satellite data for disaster response, climate change monitoring and natural resource management.
