The Boeing Company [NYSE:BA] will continue to
boost NASA scientific missions into space through at least 2009 under a
launch service order awarded to Boeing Launch Services (BLS), Inc., for as
many as 19 Delta II launch vehicles to support NASA and NASA-sponsored
missions.

The procurement, an extension of the existing NASA Launch Services contract
with BLS, calls for 12 firm launch service orders with options for seven
additional launches to support Earth observing and interplanetary
exploration missions.

“The Delta II continues its role as the most reliable launch system in its
class,” said Will Trafton, president of Boeing Launch Services, Inc. “Being
chosen to support NASA’s pursuit of exploring our universe and improving
life here on Earth is truly an honor for our company.”

The launch services are scheduled to begin in 2006 and are manifested
through 2009. If all options are exercised, the contract could be worth as
much as $1.2 billion.

“We are proud that NASA continues to show their confidence in us by
selecting Delta II for their scientific missions,” said Jay Witzling, vice
president and Delta deputy program manager.

The Delta II is a medium-lift capacity launch vehicle with a 98 percent
mission success record over 103 launches for the U.S. government, civilian,
