MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. announced today the company has been awarded a contract by Matra
Systèmes & Information (MS&I), a subsidiary of EADS Group, France to upgrade
three EagleVision mobile Ground Stations for the United States Air Force.
The upgrade will enable the USAF EagleVision units to receive data from
the recently launched high resolution ‘QuickBird’ satellite.
Working in partnership with DigitalGlobe, MDA invested in developing
standard QuickBird capability before the satellite launch in October.
Consequently, MDA was selected by DigitalGlobe as First Supplier of Certified
QuickBird Ground Stations, and can meet the USAF’s and MS&I’s aggressive
upgrade schedule.
MDA will deliver QuickBird initial operational processing capability to
the USAF and MS&I by the end of March 2002, with final delivery by the summer.
MDA’s upgrade to the Eagle Vision Stations will include end-to-end
capabilities for order management, recording, archiving, cataloguing, and
processing of data.
