The National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) is actively promoting ISO 14001 (environmental management system) as NASDA’s positive attitude through its field centers. NASDA’s Katsuura Tracking and Communication Station (KTCS) in Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture has received a third-party certification to ISO 14001 on April 5, 2001.
KTCS is the fourth center for ISO 14001 certification, following the Earth Observation Center (EOC) in Hatoyama, Saitama Prefecture, the Okinawa Tracking and Communication Station (OTCS) in Okinawa Prefecture and the Kakuda Propulsion Center (KPC) in Kakuda, Miyagi Prefecture.
Organizations with whom KPC’s certification is registered:
(1) The Japan Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (JAB)
(2) United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS)
