WASHINGTON — President Trump on July 28 submitted to the U.S. Senate the nominations of four U.S. Space Force major generals for promotion to lieutenant general. The nominations will be considered by the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Maj. Gen. Stephen Whiting was named commander of the Space Operations Command, one of three field commands in the Space Force based at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. He is currently deputy commander of the U.S. Space Force.
Maj. Gen. B. Chance Saltzman was named deputy chief of space operations, cyber and nuclear in the Office of the Chief of Space Operations at the Pentagon. He is currently acting director of the Space Force staff and previously was deputy commander of U.S. Air Forces Central Command.
Maj. Gen. William Liquori Jr. was named deputy chief of space operations for strategy, plans, programs, requirements and analysis in the Office of the Chief of Space Operations at the Pentagon. He is currently director of strategic requirements, architectures and analysis of the U.S. Space Force.
Maj. Gen. Nina Armagno was named director of staff in the Office of the Chief of Space Operations at the Pentagon. She is currently director of space programs in the Department of the Air Force.
