Join NASA astronaut Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger to find out the winner of the “Your NASA Dream Experience” contest. The announcement will be made at 1 p.m. EST on Feb. 2 in the Harrison Theatre on the joint campus of Lakeland Senior High School/Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts in Lakeland, Fla.

The contest offered teams, consisting of a teacher and two students, the opportunity to apply for a three-day job shadow experience at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. Each team member filled out a set of short-answer questions, wrote one essay and then answered two questions as a team. The pool of applicants was narrowed down to six semifinalists who then participated in a phone interview.

The winning team members will have the opportunity to gain a high-level NASA experience as they learn firsthand about the latest research from NASA scientists and engineers. They will receive guided tours of NASA facilities and training mockups. The team will learn about numerous careers within the agency.
