NASA has selected Wyle as the successful bidder on the $1.4 billion Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC). Under the terms of the contract, Wyle will support a broad range of human spaceflight activities, including fundamental and applied biomedical research; operational space medicine; occupational health and medicine at the Johnson Space Center and the White Sands Test Facility; management of clinical, biomedical, space food and environmental laboratories; design, fabrication, testing and operation of biomedical flight hardware; and payload and hardware integration with the International Space Station.

HHPC is a single award, cost-plus-award-fee contract with indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) task/delivery orders. The maximum value that can be ordered under the IDIQ portion of the base contract and option periods is $1.4 billion. The base period of performance is five years, starting October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2020. A three-year option and an additional two-year option are available.

“Wyle is very pleased to be awarded NASA’s Human Health and Performance Contract and have the opportunity to continue the important work performed under the predecessor Bioastronautics Contract,” said Roger Wiederkehr, Wyle’s CEO and president. “Advancing NASA’s human spaceflight program is a critical undertaking, requiring the highest quality medical support, research and flight hardware development services. Wyle, by virtue of its 45-year history as a NASA partner, is uniquely qualified to deliver these high-value services.”

“We were very gratified to learn that Wyle’s proposal was found to deliver the best value to NASA,” said Dr. Vernon McDonald, president of Wyle’s Science, Technology and Engineering Group. “Wyle’s proposal received the highest mission suitability and past performance ratings and was evaluated as the lowest probable cost. These factors, combined with Wyle’s highly qualified employees who strive for excellence in all they do, speak to a winning partnership in the years to come.”
