WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Women in Aerospace (WIA) announced the opening of and requested nominations for their 20th Annual Awards Competition. This signature program furthers the WIA mission to expand women’s opportunities for leadership and increase their visibility in the aerospace community. Information on last year’s winners can be found at WIA’s web site: www.womeninaerospace.org.
This year, WIA is hoping the aerospace community will help continue the tradition of celebrating women’s professional excellence in aerospace by nominating women for the following awards:
- Outstanding Achievement Award
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- International Achievement Award
- Leadership Award
- Aerospace Educator Award
- Aerospace Awareness Award
All awards are equal in stature. Nomination forms, awards criteria, rules and guidelines for each award are available at WIA’s web site. Nomination packages must be mailed to Mary Kelly, 304 Park Road, Alexandria, VA 22301, with a postmark no later than July 15, 2005. Nominators are requested to include eight (8) copies of the complete nomination package, consisting of the nomination form, a written explanation of the nominee’s qualifications relating to the award criteria, and the nominee’s résumé or biography. WIA cannot accept electronic submissions.
The awards ceremony will take place in Washington, D.C., on Capitol Hill in late September. Award winners are encouraged to attend but need not be present to win.
