Virtual Camp KSC returns this August, continuing to offer elementary school students an opportunity to explore the cosmos from their couch. Registration is now open for each of the three, three-day sessions, which will feature new curriculum and adventures.

“Even as we continue to reopen attractions and experiences, including in-person Camp KSC this summer, we’re extending the virtual option so that kids from across the world can participate in our camp experience,” said Therrin Protze, chief operating officer, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. “Since July of 2020, we’ve had the fortune of being able to include kids from 48 states and 17 countries in the Virtual Camp KSC program. To be able to share the excitement of space exploration with the next generation of space enthusiasts speaks directly to our mission, and we are over the Moon that we can reach more kids this way.”

Virtual Camp KSC offers hands-on science, technology, engineering and math activities for elementary school age students. From the comfort of home, campers can complete engaging and fun activities centered on NASA-based science and engineering. Participants will launch rockets and learn what makes them soar, fly objects into the atmosphere to get an up-close look at aerodynamics and more. During the three-day, online camp, students will connect in real-time via Zoom video conference to a member of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex education staff for each three-hour session. Participants will complete activities focused on STEM learning, hosted from the visitor complex and will receive kits with experiment supplies prior to the start of camp.
