Integral Systems of Columbia, Md., was awarded a $7 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to build the first two of five planned Rapid Attack Identification, Detection and Reporting System (RAIDRS) sites, the company announced April 13.

Integral in 2005 started development of the RAIDRS Block 10 system to detect and locate the source of interference with satellite communications links. The program was originally intended to have 36 sites but was downsized in order to reduce costs, the Air Force has said.

The recent contract also includes funding to design a third RAIDRS site, the press release said.
