Aerojet, a GenCorp Inc. (NYSE: GY – News) company, supported the third successful launch of the Lockheed Martin Atlas® V vehicle, featuring three single structure 67-foot Aerojet solid rocket boosters. The boosters provided 750,000 lbs. of additional thrust for the Atlas launch vehicle and its Inmarsat I-4 satellite payload.

Other Aerojet hardware — monopropellant rocket engines, arcjets, power processing units and thrusters — supported the launch vehicle, the upper stage, and the spacecraft.

The first successful flight of Aerojet’s solid rocket boosters was July 19, 2003. The second successful flight took place Dec. 17, 2004.
