The Coalition for Deep Space Exploration (Coalition) is excited to announce that Frank Slazer, a space industry executive and space advocate with over 30 years of experience on space policy, programs, and budgets, has been named President and CEO of the Coalition, effective May 17, 2021.

The Coalition is a national non-profit organization of space industry businesses and universities focused on ensuring the United States remains a leader in space exploration, science, and technology. The Coalition engages in outreach and education reinforcing the value and benefits of human space exploration and space science with the public and our nation’s leaders, building lasting support for a long-term, sustainable, and strategic direction for our nation’s space exploration programs.

“I am proud to be given the opportunity to lead the Coalition as it grows from strong beginnings as a human space exploration thought leader to a larger and even more effective advocate for sustained space policies and budgets that will assure our nation’s space leadership in the 21st Century,” Slazer said.

Most recently, Slazer was responsible for business development strategies across the space market for Aerojet Rocketdyne. Prior to Aerojet Rocketdyne, for eight years, he was the Vice President for Space Systems at the Aerospace Industries Association. His earlier career included engineering and business development roles at Northrop Grumman, United Launch Alliance, and Boeing.

“Frank’s experience with all aspects of space exploration, Washington, and our industry will be a tremendous asset for the Coalition’s growth as we work to increase our advocacy for robust U.S. human space exploration,” said Coalition Board Member Andrew Allen. “His respected voice will be an important contribution to assure America’s continued space leadership.”

Frank Slazer has baccalaureate degrees in Political Science and Aerospace Engineering from Syracuse University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Irvine.
