KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL – Space Florida, in partnership with the NASA/Florida Space Grant Consortium, invites Florida teachers and students to apply for a five-day Space Academy to be held at the Center for Space Education at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
The Academy will provide opportunities for students to participate in fun and stimulating math and science activities and experiments. Teachers (grades 4-9) will learn these and other activities for use back in the classroom. The Space Academy is FREE to accepted applicants.
“Improving math and science education is a major goal of Space Florida,” said Steve Kohler, President of Space Florida. “By training the engineers and scientists of tomorrow, our Space Academy will sustain Florida’s world-class aerospace workforce.”
Information and application forms are available online at www.spaceflorida.gov. Completed applications should be e-mailed to Tony Gannon, Education Director, at tgannon@spacelforida.gov. The application deadline is May 31, 2007.
