NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.,
has selected EG&G Technical Services, Inc., of Austin, Texas,
to provide center operations support services. The contract
provides for operations and maintenance of all Marshall
Center facilities and collateral equipment, plus other
related functions.
The one-year contract, with provision for four one-year
options, was awarded after a competitive selection process.
It could be worth up to $130 million over five years if NASA
exercises all four options as well as maximum quantity
requirements. Most of the services will be provided on a
firm-fixed price basis. Other services are to be provided on
an as-needed basis under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-
quantity section of the contract.
EG&G will be supported by several subcontractor team members,
all of which are small business firms: Mainthia Technologies
Inc.; Greenway Enterprises Inc.; Echota Research and Science
Applications; Alabama A&M Research Institute; and Plexus
Scientific Corp.
Services under the contract will be performed on-site at the
Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville and will extend
from July, 2003, through June 30, 2004. If NASA exercises the
four one-year options, services will be continued through
June 30, 2008.
EG&G is required to provide all resources, including labor,
supervision, tools, equipment, materials, spare parts,
incidental engineering, transportation, and management
necessary to accomplish the work. The contract terms also
emphasize that services being provided will support
Marshall’s missions in a safe, reliable and timely manner.
