What:

Students from Huntsville’s Johnson High School, Randolph High School and
Sparkman High School are ready to launch the first rockets flown as part of
the Student Launch Initiative at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville,
Ala. The students will present their case for launch in reviews modeled
after NASA’s Flight Readiness Reviews. A panel of NASA scientists and
engineers will hear the students’ presentations Friday, Sept. 21, in the
first level of review. On Tuesday, Oct. 2, the students will present their
rocket hardware for inspection by members of the Huntsville Area Rocketry
Association in a Level Two review. The reviews must be passed before the
launch on Oct. 6.

When:

8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21 (Level One)

3:30 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2 (Level Two)

Where: National Space Science and Technology Center, on the southwest
corner of Lakeside Drive and Sparkman Drive in Cummings Research Park. Enter
