Students can learn how to build their own spaceship by talking to the same engineers who helped craft the Space Shuttle during NASA Johnson Space Center’s fourth annual Engineering Career Expo from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Space Center Houston.
Middle school, high school and community college students will learn that a career in engineering will enable them to design spaceships that can travel to Mars or even a state-of-the-art stadium for the Super Bowl. Students will also have access to NASA engineers, university cooperative education students, and representatives from private industry and universities with engineering departments.
This free event requires no advance registration and is open to parents, educators and guidance counselors.
The Expo will feature demonstrations and offer tips on what classes to take, which colleges offer what degrees, what employers are looking for and other careers in engineering.
This year’s lineup includes: Baylor University, Boeing, Purdue University, SPACEHAB, Texas A&M University, University of Texas, United Space Alliance, and many more.
If that doesn’t quench their thirsts, attendees will also get a chance to go beyond the gates of human spaceflight during JSC’s Open House from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 23.
