On April 17th, the crew of STS-109
visited Science Committee Chairman Sherwood Boehlert in his
Washington office, presented him with souvenirs from their mission,
and signed Boehlert’s “Astronaut Wall of Fame.”

Mission STS-109 was the fourth mission to service the
Hubble Space Telescope. Five spacewalks were conducted to install an
advanced new camera system, reactivate an existing infrared
instrument system, install new solar arrays, and install a new power
controller unit. The Space Shuttle Columbia and its crew lifted
off on March 1, 2002 and landed at Kennedy Space Center on March
12.
