“Space Florida would like to sincerely congratulate SpaceX for its most recent, successful launch from Florida. On December 3rd, SpaceX achieved a major milestone by launching and deploying its first commercial satellite payload into orbit from Florida’s Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral.
This is a groundbreaking achievement for SpaceX and the U.S. Space Program. The commercial satellite launch market has long been dominated by other countries and this most recent Florida-based launch demonstrates that the U.S. can once again provide cost-effective, reliable and timely access to space for commercial satellite companies. As a result of this and upcoming launches by companies like SpaceX, the U.S. will once again be considered the “go to” location for commercial satellite launches.
