England’s Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. (SSTL) said Jan. 20 that it had created two new business units to focus on Earth observation and science missions, and telecommunications and navigation.
Paul Brooks has been put in charge of Surrey’s Earth observation and science business unit, which will oversee the company’s involvement in a remote sensing mission for Kazakhstan, and the launch of the NigeriaSat-2 and NX satellites for Nigeria later this year.
John Paffett has been chosen to run Surrey’s telecommunications and navigation business unit, which will oversee the company’s work on the 14 Galileo navigation satellites Europe ordered from Germany’s OHB Technology in January.
