House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) today released the following statement after the Space Shuttle Atlantis landed and completed a successful mission.
“Once again the American space program has forged new heights in space exploration through its commitment to diligence, innovation, and entrepreneurship. I want to congratulate this six-member crew on a productive mission to the International Space Station. With this undertaking the crew effectively installed a full second set of solar arrays onto the station, completed three space walks, and conducted various robotics operations. NASA prepared for over four years for this 12 day mission, and I congratulate the men and women of the U.S. space program for this exceptional achievement.”
