The progress of the fourth expedition to the
International Space Station will be discussed during a Mission
Status Briefing beginning at 2 p.m. EST Thursday, Feb. 14,
from NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.
The briefing will be broadcast on NASA Television with
question-and-answer capability for reporters from other NASA
centers.
Mission managers will offer an update on activities aboard the
space station, including a spacewalk Feb. 20 by Flight
Engineers Carl Walz and Dan Bursch out of the Quest Airlock.
This will be the first use of the station’s airlock since July
2001 and sets the stage for four spacewalks out of Quest to
attach the first of several large truss segments to the
complex during a space shuttle mission scheduled for early
April.
Walz, Bursch and Commander Yury Onufrienko are in the third
month of a planned five-month stay aboard the orbiting
research laboratory.
