What: Commander Mark Polansky and members of Space Shuttle Discovery’s STS-116 mission will visit NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., Tuesday, March 6. The 13-day mission, which flew Dec. 9-22, 2006, successfully reconfigured the International Space Station’s power and cooling systems from a temporary setup to a permanent mode and added a new piece to the station’s backbone.

10:00 a.m. CST – Crew members will provide mission highlights in Morris Auditorium, Building 4200.
11:10 a.m. – Crew members will be available for news media interviews in the Video Teleconferencing Center, Room 106, Bldg. 4200.

To attend: News media interested in covering the event should contact the Marshall Public & Employee Communications Office at 256-544-0034 no later than Monday, March 5. Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
