A press conference with Space Shuttle Program Manager
Ron Dittemore will be broadcast on NASA Television beginning
at 1 p.m. EDT Friday, Aug. 2, from NASA’s Johnson Space
Center, Houston.
The briefing will detail plans for resuming launches with
question-and-answer capability for reporters at NASA centers.
Space shuttle flights have been on hold while teams of
engineers evaluated the cause and effect — from a safety-of-
flight standpoint — of tiny cracks found in liners inside
fuel lines of the four orbiters — Columbia, Discovery,
Atlantis and Endeavour.
NASA TV is available on GE-2, Transponder 9C, at 85 degrees
West longitude, vertical polarization, with a frequency of
3880 MHz and audio of 6.8 MHz.
