NOTE TO EDITORS:
The Space Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to land 12:33 p.m. today at
Edwards Air Force Base/NASA Dryden Flight Research Center to conclude
mission STS-98. The location is in the Mojave Desert north of Los
Angeles.
The Shuttle Atlantis is expected to reach landfall at the California
coast near the greater Los Angeles area at about 75,000 feet altitude,
about 10 minutes before landing. A sonic boom may be experienced along
the Shuttle’s flight path from the Los Angeles basin north to Edwards.
