Space Imaging, the world’s leader in providing Earth imagery and related services to commercial and government markets, announced today that it is offering price reductions on several IKONOS imagery product suites. New prices are effective immediately.  Since its launch in September 1999, the IKONOS satellite has collected more than 20 million square kilometers of nearly cloud-free imagery of the planet and has generated more than 500,000 images, which are stored in the companys digital archive. Images have been collected over every continent.

After two successful years of selling IKONOS imagery to the growing remote sensing marketplace, Space Imaging now has a robust and geographically representative image archive, said Jeff Young, executive director of Sales for Space Imagings Global Solutions division.  We have adjusted our prices to address the expanding requirements of commercial and government customers and to allow these customers to take full advantage of our archive.

New Base Pricing

Geo products are ideal for projects not requiring a high degree of positional accuracy but which require quick delivery such as emergency response, agriculture productivity monitoring and media reporting.  The new pricing excludes Regional Affiliate communication cones.

Geo 1m (archive) archived, black-and-white (B&W) products reduced from $12 to $7/sq. km. (minimum order of 100 sq. km.) for an area of interest (AOI) within North America and reduced from $35 to $20/sq. km. for an AOI outside of North America.  Standard color, bundle and license upgrades apply.  Geo 1m (task) newly collected, B&W products reduced from $35 to $25/sq. km. (minimum order of 100 sq. km.) for an AOI outside of North America.  Standard color, bundle and license upgrades apply.  Geo 4m multispectral products outside of North America reduced from $35 to $18/sq. km. making the base price the same for almost any global AOI. Geo 4m Ortho Kit multispectral products outside of North America reduced from $62 to $29/sq. km. making the base price the same for almost any global AOI.

Pro products are designed for provincial, state and local government projects, as well as transportation, utilities, telecommunications, real estate and other traditional geographic applications.  These products are ideally suited for applications requiring a high degree of positional accuracy, such as base and cadastral mapping, city planning, geographic information system (GIS) updates, change detection, site selection and development planning. This product incorporates digital elevation models for increased accuracy. New pricing is based on volume ordered:

Pricing for less than 1,300 sq. km. is reduced from $39 to $35/sq. km. within the United States except Alaska.  Pricing for more than 1,301 sq. km. is volume discounted to $28/sq. km.  Standard color, bundle and license upgrades apply.
