Colorado Springs, Colo. (June 1, 2004) The Space Foundation announced today that it has opened a Florida office to better serve its mission and customers on the Space Coast. The office is located at 707 Mullet Drive, Suite 201, in Port Canaveral. The Space Foundation is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., and also maintains a presence in Washington, D.C.
“We’re pleased to establish this new office, which creates a highly responsive, customer-focused interface with key Space Foundation customers on Florida’s Space Coast,” said Elliot G. Pulham, Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer. “These include the NASA Kennedy Space Center and many Space Foundation corporate member companies, as well as important organizations like the Florida Space Authority, Florida Space Grant Consortium, Florida Space Finance Corporation, Delaware North and the Astronauts Memorial Foundation, to name just a few.”
The Space Foundation has named Jim Banke, director of communications, to head the Florida office. Banke also leads the Foundation’s Coalition for Space Exploration, a collaborative effort whose mission is to ensure the United States will remain a leader in space, science and technology through promotion of the Vision for Space Exploration.
