Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) will visit the Johnson Space Center on Friday to talk with the astronauts in orbit and meet with media.
Hutchison and DeLay will tour the Mission Control Center, meeting with Space Station and Space Shuttle flight controllers before making a phone call to the astronauts aboard Discovery and the Space Station.
Senator Hutchison will meet with media at 9:15 a.m. in the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility at the Johnson Space Center. Participating media must be in place no later than 9 a.m.
The joint phone call to the Shuttle/Station astronauts will take place at 10 a.m. central time from the Shuttle Flight Control Room. That conversation will be broadcast live on NASA Television.
Congressman DeLay will meet with media at 10:40 a.m. in the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility. Participating media must be in place no later than 10:15 a.m.
Media wishing to participate in these media availabilities must contact the JSC Newsroom by 8 a.m. central Friday for accreditation.
