Pledges to do everything he can to help speed their confirmation process along

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, today hosted a meeting in his Washington office with the White House’s nominees for NASA Administrator and NASA Deputy Administrator, Gen. Charles Bolden and Lori Garver, respectively.

“I had the opportunity to meet with Gen. Charles Bolden and Lori Garver, who both have distinguished careers and are extremely qualified individuals to serve as administrator and deputy administrator of NASA. I pledged to give them my full support in the Senate and will do everything I can to ensure a quick confirmation process so we can have quality leadership in place at NASA. I also reiterated how important it is that Johnson Space Center remain at the forefront of manned-space travel, that it continues as an integral part of NASA’s mission, and that workforce training be a priority as well,” Sen. Cornyn said.

Sen. Cornyn serves on the Finance, Judiciary and Budget Committees. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee’s Immigration, Refugees and Border Security subcommittee. He served previously as Texas Attorney General, Texas Supreme Court Justice, and Bexar County District Judge.
