Washington, DC (August 21, 2000) – Sea Launch,
the multinational ocean-based launch services
company, is the latest addition to the list of
major sponsors of the International Space
Symposium. The Symposium focuses on business
aspects of the $100 billion (US) global space
industry, and is scheduled for October 24-26,
2000 at the Reagan International Trade Center in
Washington, DC.

Space Foundation officials announced today that
Sea Launch will sponsor the Future Watch
Luncheon on Wednesday, October 25. Sea Launch
President Will Trafton will host the luncheon
and veteran newsman Hugh Downs, chairman of the
Board of Governors, National Space Society will
serve as Master of Ceremonies. Noted futurist
Dr. Michael Hawley, Dreyfoos Professor of Media
Technology, MIT Media Labs is the featured
speaker.

The International Space Symposium is presented
by the Space Foundation in association with more
than 30 participating agencies, supporting
organizations and sponsors. Speakers
representing 22 nations from around the world
are currently scheduled to participate.
