Washington, D.C. January 14, 2013 – The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) is pleased to announce the election of its 2013 Executive Committee. SIA’s Board of Directors elected Mr. Jeff Trauberman of The Boeing Company to serve as 2013 Board Chairman, Mr. Bill Weller of Space Systems/Loral, as Vice Chairman, and Ms. Stacy Fuller of DIRECTV, as Treasurer.

“SIA is honored to have such a distinguished team of executives to lead its Board of Directors in 2013” noted Patricia Cooper, President of SIA. “The newly elected officers represent experience from a diverse scope of the satellite industry, and will help to focus SIA’s work to best represent the U.S. satellite industry.”

Mr. Jeff Trauberman, 2013 Chairman of the SIA Board, is Vice President, Space, Intelligence and Missile Defense, Government Operations at The Boeing Company’s Washington, DC Office. He currently leads Government Operations activities, including business growth and customer engagement in the areas of satellite and space systems, intelligence, integrated missile defense and cyber-information systems. In addition to Mr. Trauberman’s tenure at Boeing since 1984, and his longstanding active involvement with SIA, he previously served as Chairman of the SIA in 2003.

Mr. Weller, 2013 Vice Chairman of the SIA Board, is Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Space Systems/Loral (SSL), where he is responsible for SSL’s marketing and sales of communications satellites and systems to international and U.S. satellite operators. He also leads space policy efforts with the U.S. Government for SSL. Mr. Weller, who joined the SSL predecessor Ford Aerospace in 1982, was named to this position in 2001 after serving as Director of Americas Marketing and Sales, and previously for the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to these positions he served as project manager for satellite ground-systems development and satellite operations programs and led new business development in these areas.

Ms. Stacy Fuller, 2013 SIA Treasurer, is Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, for DIRECTV. Stacy is responsible for overseeing DIRECTV’s federal regulatory issues impacting DIRECTV. Prior to joining DIRECTV in 2005, Stacy was Media Legal Advisor to former FCC Commissioner Abernathy. Before serving in the government, Stacy worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, Discovery Communications, Inc., Alston & Bird, and Wiley, Rein & Fielding. Stacy is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and the University of Michigan.
