Company to Provide Construction Phase Services, Value Engineering and Total Building Commissioning Services in Support of the Facilities Management Office
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to provide construction phase services, value engineering and total building commissioning services in support of the Marshall Space Flight Center, Facilities Management Office. The follow-on contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a contract value of more than $11 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. and NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, La.
NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center provides the multidiscipline engineering expertise behind propulsion and transportation systems; enables scientific discovery through development of hardware and instruments for projects; develops, integrates, and operates major components and systems on the International Space Station; and supports its operations around the clock. Under the contract, SAIC will provide construction, value engineering and total building commissioning services, including building construction oversight, facilities operations and maintenance (O&M) oversight of work performed by NASA contractors, value engineering at-large and total building commissioning for new buildings.
