Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) of McLean, Va., was awarded a one-year, $9.1 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for space launch risk analysis services, according to a Sept. 28 SAIC press release.
SAIC will work with the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center’s Independent Readiness Review Team to conduct pre-launch reviews of risks associated with software, avionics, propulsion and structural issues, the release said. The contract could be worth as much as $49 million over five years if all options are exercised.
