Groups Recognized for Contributions to Electronics and Aerospace Technology Education
RuleStream Corporation, a software company that automates the build-to-order process across engineering, manufacturing and sales, today announced that it was recognized for its contributions to technology education by Cleveland State University in a ceremony launching the school’s Center for Research in Electronics & Aerospace Technology (CREATE).
RuleStream was honored for its contributions of software and educational resources to the center during a ceremony and reception held on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the CSU Convocation Center.
CSU President Michael Shwartz and NASA Glenn Director Julian Earls formally unveiled the center at the ceremony. A beautiful engraved crystal expressing CSU’s appreciation was presented to RuleStream by Dr. Mark Tumeo, vice provost of research and dean of graduate studies, and Dr. Chin Kuo, provost and senior vice president, academic affairs.
The center, which will be administered by the faculty and staff of CSU’s Fenn College of Engineering, will support NASA’s mission and the work done by Cleveland’s NASA Glenn Research Center. RuleStream works closely with both the university and NASA Glenn on a variety of projects. RuleStream software and training programs will be made available to students, faculty and staff at the center as part of the gift.
Initial training on RuleStream products was held at CSU from May 24 through May 26 of this year. The course is called “RuleStream Essentials,” and will be offered on a regular basis.
“These gifts are particularly important at this time as we move our academic programs more solidly toward capturing and reusing engineering and design best practices and resources,” said Dr. Charles Alexander, dean of the Fenn College of Engineering. “RuleStream is clearly a leader in capturing, modeling and automating complex engineering and manufacturing decisions, and we are pleased to be working with the best.”
“RuleStream is honored to have this opportunity to train the next generation of engineers, who will face ever-growing competitive threats from several areas,” said RuleStream Chief Executive Officer David Vredenburgh. “Cleveland State University and NASA Glenn have developed an excellent program for training engineers for 21st century challenges, and we’re pleased to be able to play this small part in ensuring a strong foundation for our future engineers.”
