(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Representative Dave Weldon (FL-15) released the following statement regarding the President’s nomination of Dr. Michael Griffin for NASA Administrator:

“I applaud and commend the President on his selection of Michael Griffin to become the next NASA Administrator. While NASA faces a number of technical and financial challenges in the years ahead, I am confident that Dr. Griffin is more than up to the challenge.

“2005 is going to be a critical year in implementing the Vision for Space Exploration – first and foremost being the safe return to flight for the Space Shuttle and resumption of ISS construction. I urge the Senate to quickly confirm Dr. Griffin as I look forward to supporting and working with him,” Weldon said.
