Eighth Congressional District, PA  On Monday, May 24, at 10:00 a.m. ET, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright (PA-08) will hold an “Artemis Supplier and NEPA Small Business Industry Day” with NASA Administrator Bill Nelson for Northeastern Pennsylvania businesses interested in partnering with the agency.

The event will focus on opportunities for small business contracting to support space exploration technology research and NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to land the first woman and the next man on the moon by 2024. An informational session will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET, and matchmaking breakout sessions will be held from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. ET.

“For small business owners, I understand that it might seem like contracting with the federal government is complicated and beyond your reach, but it may be easier than you think,” said Rep. Cartwright, who chairs the Commerce-Justice-Science Appropriations Subcommittee, which funds NASA.“Northeastern Pennsylvania has a proud industrial heritage, and I’m looking forward to helping our businesses work with NASA on advancing America’s world leading space exploration program. I thank Administrator Nelson for his valued partnership in this effort.”

“NASA is sending our astronauts to the surface of the Moon and Pennsylvania is going with us!” Nelson said. “I’m looking forward to joining Chairman Cartwright, NASA’s Glenn Delgado, and small businesses and suppliers in Pennsylvania to highlight the many opportunities for small businesses to support NASA’s human exploration, science and technology programs, including the United States’ Artemis Program, which will land the first woman and the first person of color on the surface of the Moon.”
