Raytheon Company has been selected by Boeing Satellite Systems (BSS) to provide ECLIPSE‘ satellite command and control software for use in the BSS Mission Control Center (MCC) in El Segundo, Calif. BSS will use ECLIPSE for satellite launch and mission operations, as well as on-orbit checkout.
“The fact that the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial communications satellites has chosen the Raytheon ECLIPSE system further underscores this product’s reliability, capability and maturity,” said Karen McDonald, director of commercial systems for Raytheon’s Space Systems business area.
One of the many advantages of ECLIPSE is the comprehensive fleet capability that allows satellite operators to utilize a single ground system for their entire fleet, regardless of spacecraft make or model.
Separately, BSS stated that the use of ECLIPSE is the preferred command and control solution for their satellite customers during their Ninth Biennial Commercial Satellite Owner/Operator’s Conference held July 30- Aug. 1, 2002 in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
