Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems will partner with Aselsan of Ankara, Turkey, to develop a command and control subsystem for the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC)-3 system that will be delivered to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to an Oct. 19 Raytheon press release.

The UAE in December 2008 finalized a $3.3 billion deal with the U.S. government to purchase the PAC-3 air and missile defense system from prime contractor Raytheon of Tewksbury, Mass. Raytheon has contracted with Aselsan to provide the antenna mast group system, which is part of the PAC-3 ground control system, Raytheon spokeswoman Roopa Bhide said. The company is on track to begin deliveries of the system in summer 2012, Bhide said.
