The public is invited to join NASA employees, family and friends to view the
launch of STS-102 Discovery on Thursday, March 8 at 5:42 a.m. Live launch
coverage will be shown on the IMAX theatre screen at Space Center Houston,
1601 NASA Rd. #1 (adjacent to Johnson Space Center). Seats are available are
a first-come, first-served basis.

Doors will open at 4:15 a.m. A mission preview is scheduled for 4:45, hosted
by NASA astronaut Mark Polansky, and live commentary from Kennedy Space
Center will begin at 5:30 prior to the planned launch at 5:42. The event
will conclude at 6:15 a.m. No special badging is necessary to attend.
Expedition 2 commemorative posters and photos of Astronaut Polansky will be
available free of charge.

Launch schedules are always subject to change. Those planning to attend
Thursday’s event are encouraged to check the NASA Information line at
281-483-8600 before departing for Space Center Houston.
