Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne received a $60.3 million contract extension to provide continued Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) pre-launch, launch and post-launch support through March 31, 2011, the Canoga Park, Calif.-based company announced Oct. 13.
NASA’s last officially manifested space shuttle flight is scheduled for February. However, U.S. President Barack Obama signed a NASA authorization bill into law Oct. 11 that directs the agency to fly one more shuttle flight no sooner than June.
