LOS ANGELES AIR FORCE BASE, El Segundo, Calif. – Launch team members for the Operationally Responsive Space – 1 mission will host a media teleconference Friday, June 24, at 2:00 p.m., EDT, to discuss the upcoming launch scheduled for Tuesday, June 28, from the NASA Wallops Flight Facility.
Col. Carol Welsch, ORS-1 Mission Director; Dr. Peter Wegner, Director of the DoD Operationally Responsive Space Office; Mr. Ron Walsh, Project Manager for NASA Wallops Flight Facility; Mr. Frank Giglio, ORS-1 Program Manager, Goodrich Corporation; Mr. Lou Amorosi, Vice President, Orbital/Suborbital Program, Orbital Sciences Corporation; and Mr. Brendan Regan, Vice President of Space Mission Systems, Alliant Techsystems Inc., will discuss details of the upcoming launch and will be available for questions.
The rapid development and deployment of the ORS-1 space capability reinforces the use of low-cost, tactically focused satellites that can augment existing capability for the warfighter.
