Northrop Grumman’s Navigation Systems Division said Feb. 22 that it has begun an expansion of a Salt Lake City manufacturing facility that builds precision navigation systems, gyroscopes and accelerometers for defense, national security and commercial customers.
Northrop recently broke ground on the expansion, which will increase the size of the nearly 21,000-square-meter facility by more than a fifth. The company said the expansion will help Northrop meet increased demand for the precision navigation systems the facility’s 750-person work force produces.
The project is scheduled to be completed in December.
