The U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) on Jan. 18 began moving employees to the agency’s new 220,000-square-meter campus at Fort Belvoir’s North Area in Springfield, Va.

The move to Campus East marked the first deployment of NGA mission personnel to result from the facility consolidation called for by the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission.

The campus will accommodate 8,500 people while allowing for future growth, the NGA said in a press release.

The move is expected to be completed in September.
