U.S. news media are invited to cover the “NASA Social” event May 4 at the agency’s Dryden Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base. A NASA Social is an event for people who use NASA’s social media accounts.
This first NASA Social event at Dryden will allow media the opportunity to interview the social media participants, as well as NASA personnel including pilots and project managers.
NASA will host up to 75 social media followers to go behind-the-scenes and learn more about NASA aeronautics, science, space and other projects located at Dryden.
The daylong event begins at 7:30 a.m. PDT and will include tours of current aircraft and presentations on cutting-edge research projects and the support services that keep the projects flying. Not only will guests learn about sonic booms, they could experience one first-hand.
Interested media should contact Beth Hagenauer at 661-276-7960 or by email at beth.hagenauer@nasa.gov by noon Monday, April 30. Media representatives must be U.S. citizens.
NASA Social participants are coming from 16 states and were selected from about 400 online registrants. For this event, fans and followers of NASA’s accounts on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ were eligible to register.
