WASHINGTON, D.C. – The
"Investing in America’s Future Act," (H.R. 4664) has been
scheduled for consideration on the House floor on Wednesday, June
5. The House Rules Committee will consider the legislation at
5:00 p.m. tomorrow.
The bill, sponsored by Research
Subcommittee Chairman Nick Smith (R-MI) and Ranking Member Eddie
Bernice Johnson (D-TX), and Science Committee Chairman Sherwood
Boehlert (R-NY) and Ranking Democrat Ralph Hall (D-TX), authorizes a
15 percent increase for NSF’s budget for each of the next three
years, which would put the agency on a track to double its budget in
five years
The Science Committee approved H.R.
4664 by voice vote on May 22. Information on the legislation is
