VANDENBERG AFB, Calif. — A National Reconnaissance Office satellite was successfully launched aboard a Titan IV-B rocket from South Vandenberg at 2:36 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time today.

Vandenberg’s 4th Space Launch Squadron launched the Titan IV-B from Space Launch Complex 4 East.

The satellite was designed and built by the NRO. This was the first time a Titan IV-B was launched from Vandenberg and was the largest rocket ever launched from the base.
