What: NASA’s Super Guppy aircraft will deliver a module, originally developed for use as a habitation module for the International Space Station, to NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., Feb. 8. The module will be used to conduct advanced environmental control and life support system testing for future NASA exploration missions. This system will provide fresh air, water and a comfortable environment for crews on future spacecraft.
The Super Guppy’s cargo compartment is 25 feet tall, 25 feet wide and 111 feet long. The aircraft can carry a maximum payload of more than 26 tons. It has a unique hinged nose that can open more than 200 degrees, allowing large pieces of cargo to be loaded and unloaded from the front.

Where: News media should meet escorts at the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Redstone Arsenal Gate 9, and then proceed to Redstone Army Airfield.

News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
