The Minority Business & Professional Network recently
honored Lloyd A. Blanchard, Ph.D., during its national 5th
Annual Awards Gala. Blanchard was selected as one of this
year’s “Fifty Influential Minorities in Business.”
Blanchard is NASA’s Senior Advisor for Financial Management.
His primary role at NASA is to coordinate the implementation
of the President’s Management Agenda and to help guide
agency financial management processes, efficiencies and
modernization.
Before joining NASA, he served as the Chief Operating
Officer and Associate Deputy Administrator for Management
and Administration at the U.S. Small Business Administration
(SBA). His accomplishments at SBA helped earn this
prestigious honor.
The award is given to minorities who are making outstanding
contributions in their respective business-related fields.
“I was quite surprised and humbled by the honor, but also
feel quite pleased that my work at SBA was recognized as
having a positive and significant impact on the minority
business community,” Blanchard said.
Blanchard received his doctorate in Public Administration,
with focus on public finance and urban policy, from Syracuse
University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public
Affairs, N.Y. In addition to his doctorate, he holds a
bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas
at Austin, a bachelor’s in political science from the
University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Master of Public
Administration from Syracuse University.
